Lyman (Theodore Jr.) is born in Boston.
February 20, 1792
The son of Theodore and Lydia (Williams) Lyman, Theodore Lyman Jr. graduates from Harvard College, travels in Europe, and returns to Boston and marries Mary Henderson. He founds the state reform school, and serves as president of the Boston Farm School, and in the Massachusetts Senate (1824) and House of Representatives (1825), and as mayor of Boston (1834-35). Lyman moves to 8 Mount Vernon Place in 1841, and writes a number of books on travel and politics. He dies in Boston on July 18, 1849.
